Former Brooklyn Cyclones Report: Mike Hepple Lands Home with Independent Connecticut Team

The New Britain Bees of the independent Athletic League signed ex-Brooklyn Cyclone right-handed pitcher Mike Hepple to a contract for the 2017 campaign during the week.

A non-drafted free agent, Hepple, a Connecticut native, played with Brooklyn of the New-Penn League (NYPL) during the 2014 season, going 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in 23.1 innings of work in 13 games.

The 6-foot-5-inch 26-year-old spent three years in the New York Mets’ organization, reaching a s high as Double-A Binghamton, where he posted a 2-3 record with a 6.30 ERA in 20 innings in 16 tilts last year.

Hepple also spent time, in 2016, with Single-A St. Lucie of the Florida State League (FSL), tossing 38. 2 innings in 24 contests with a 1-2 record and 3.96 ERA.

Hepple started his professional career in independent baseball in 2013 before signing with the Mets, and has appeared in a total of 118 professional games across four seasons.

In 183 career innings, the Eastern Connecticut State University graduate, with a degree in sports management, owns a 3.79 lifetime ERA to go along with 113 strikeouts.
