Ex-Brooklyn Cyclones Hurler Jordan Humphreys Continues Torrid Pitching Stretch with Columbia

Columbia Fireflies starting pitcher Jordan Humphreys enjoyed another stellar outing, retiring the first 12 batters he faced against the Rome Braves Wednesday afternoon.

All in all, Humphreys, a former 18^th round pick of the New York Mets in the 2015 MLB amateur draft, allowed a mere four hits and two runs in six innings of work en route to a Fireflies’ 3-2 win versus the Braves Wednesday at State Mutual Stadium.

It was Humphreys’ third consecutive victory of the young season.

The six-foot-two-inch, 225-pound hurler has been fantastic out of the gate. In 18.2 innings over three starts, the former Brooklyn Cyclones righty has posted an impressive 0.96 ERA and fanned 22 hitters against just one walk.

While with the Cyclones in 2016, Humphreys posted a 0-1 record with nine strikeouts in six innings.

For his career, the 20-year-old Crystal River, Fla., native is 6-6 with a 2.90 ERA in 105.2 frames across 23 contests.
