After six weeks, with a number of PSAL Bowl Conference games in the ledgers, the best of the best are emerging to pace their teams to the top of the heap.
Here are the players who are stacking up at the top of the mountain stat-wise:
Rushing
Senior running back Gary Newman, of Eagle Academy for Young Men III, is leading his division in yards with 1009 and touchdowns with 14.
Receiving
Senior Titus Leo receiver, of Frank J. Macchiarola Educational Complex, is atop of the Bowl Conference with 28 catches and nine TDs.
Passing Yards
Eagle Academy II’s John Washington, a junior signal caller, is leading the pack in passing yards with 746.
Completions
Christopher Columbus junior quarterback Julian Aponte has connected on 48 passes to currently take the top spot in the conference.
Passing TDs
Fredrick Douglas Academy senior Domingo Garcia has found the end zone 13 times for the conference lead.
Field Goals
Bayside senior kicker Jean Palacio has made three of four attempts to grab the top place in the Bowl Conference.
Kick Return Average
Petrides junior Tyheer Tucker has 17.75 yards per return–with 142 overall yards in eight chances.
Tackles
FJMEC’s (old Sheepshead Bay High School) Leo paces the Bowl Conference with 55 stops.
Sacks
Tilden’s Diamond Andrew, a junior, leads all conference defensive players with sevens sacks.
Interceptions
Another Eagle player grabs a top spot, as senior Dean Parham has picked off four passes..
