Mets’ Prospect Jarred Kelenic Continues on Hot-Hitting Pace

Although it’s a small sample size, the start to New York Mets’ prospect Jarred Kelenic’s professional baseball career has giving the franchise a lot to look forward to in the future.

The six-foot-one, 196-pound outfielder laced .413/.451/.609 with a homer, nine RBI, two doubles, two triples, four walks, and four stolen bases in 12 games with the Rookie-Level Gulf Coast Mets.

New York subsequently promoted its 2018 first round MLB draft pick to Rookie-level Kingsport of the Appalachian League — where he is slashing .308/.471/.769 with two dingers, six RBI, five runs score, and a base theft in 13 at-bats in four contests — after his first two weeks of his pro career.

In addition, Kelenic has been playing a solid outfield, as he’s known for getting a good initial jump on fly balls.

Kelenic’s number across his first 15 tilts are: .390/.456/.644 with three home runs, 15 RBI, two two-baggers, two triples, 14 runs scores, and five stolen bases.

While it’s too early to hail Kelenic as a potential

Mets’ savor, it’s hard not to get a little excited over the Wisconsin native’s early performance.
