Men’s College Basketball Recruiting News, Moves: Latimer, Woodrich, Hinckson

The ever-evolving high school and college basketball recruiting wheel keep turning as more and more players get scholarship offers and make moves every day, to hopefully situate themselves in a better position for the future. 

Take a look at a few moves made recently.

Stony Brook guard Miles Latimer has entered the transfer portal, Verbal Commits tweeted today. After moving from the starting rotation to the bench, college basketball insiders speculated that Latimer will look for a hoops program that will offer him more playing time, of course. 

Latimer, from Fairfax, VA, posted seven points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game with the Seawolves. 

Manhattan has made an offer to forward Jayson Woodrich (picture below) of Scotland Campus Sports (PA), he recently tweeted. Woodrich is a good shooter and should perform well at the next level.

Manhattan sophomore guard Christian Hinckson has entered the transfer portal, per verbal commits. 

Hinckson averaged 3.6 ppg, 2.7 rpg, and 1.0 apg while shooting 35.9 percent from the field as a freshman in the 2019-19 campaign. He played in all 32 tilts, making 17 starts while seeing an average of 16.8 minutes each time out on the hardwood. 

Hinckson spent a postgraduate year at the Tilton School in New Hampshire after playing hoops at the Public School Athlete’s League’s (PSAL) John Bowne High School in Flushing, Queens.

The six-foot-seven, 210-pounder averaged 16.3 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as a senior in high school.
