Ex-Lady Cougar Maddie Hartnett Leads Scranton Hoops to Sixth Straight Landmark Conference Crown

Former Chatham Cougar hoops standout Maddie Hartnett paced the Lady Royals (7-1) basketball team with a career-high 16 points en route to a 56-55 victory over the Catholic Univeristy Cardinals (7-3) in the Landmark Conference Championship game on Saturday afternoon at the John Long Center in Scranton.

Senior guard Maddie Hartnett led Chatham girls’ basketball over Summit in quarterfinal win last year.

It was the Univeristy of Scranton’s (D 3) sixth straight Landmark Conference Hoops Championship.

Additionally, Hartnett earned the Landmark Conference Tournament MVP after draining four of six shots from three-point land. The 5-foot-8 freshman guard averaged 9.3 points in an truncated eight-game season.

At Chatham High School, Harnett was a two-time all-conference and all-county honoree.

Another New Jersey native, sophomore Bridget Monaghan of Florham Park and Morristown-Beard High School, added 12 points on five-of-nine from the field to go along with five rebounds and three assists.
