Ex-South Shore Hoops Star Kadary Richmond Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

After averaging 6.3 points and 3.0 assists in 28 games for the Syracuse Men’s Basketball team this past season, today freshman Kadary Richmond has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per VerbalCommits.com.

Former South Shore star Kadary Richmond is leaving Syracuse Hoops.

Richmond, a Brooklyn native who played prep hoops for Brewster Academy (N.H.) and South Shore High School, led the Orange in steals with 46.

Richmond spent most of the year as the backup point guard to starter Joe Girard, as he averaged 21 minutes per contest.

Richmond’s move comes after Robert Braswell (6-foot-7 redshirted sophomore) and John Bol Ajak (6-foot-10 redshirted freshman) decided to enter their names in the portal on Monday.

Richmond is a former consensus four-star shooting guard prospect who selected Syracuse over other Division I schools, including Penn State, Seton Hall, Oregon, Kansas State, Georgetown, and UConn, among other top programs.

Richmond helped the Vikings capture back-to-back Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Basketball Championships in his final two years at the Canarsie, Brooklyn, school.
