It is on, as Mercedes Monè, formerly Sasha Banks in WWE, will take on Kairi in New Japan Pro-wrestling: Battle In The Valley event for the International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP) Womens’ title at the San Jose Civic Center, in San Jose, Calif., on Saturday, February 18th at 7:00 p.m.
Monè, along with Naomi, walked out on WWE this past summer after expressing dissatisfaction with the creative direction of their tag team characters, according to reports. The company later released them, though Naomi is currently on WWE’s superstar page.
Kairi, known as Kairi Sane in WWE, left the company in 2020 and returned to NJPW, where she is the current IWGP champ.
