Former UAB guard Tyler Bertram is returning to the Upstate New York area by transferring to Division I Albany Mens’ basketball program, today he Tweeted.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Cooperstown, N.Y., native averaged 9.0 points per game and shot 39 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the foul line at Binghamton as a junior in 2021-22.
Bertram, an incoming senior, spent a season at Charlotte (2019-20), playing in 12 contests.
Bertram was a three-year standout at Cooperstown High School (N.Y.), where he drained a school-record with 1,897 points.
Additionally, he dropped in 264 career three-pointers, assists (417) and steals (181), season points (783 in 2015-16) and points in a game (55 vs. Moravia in 2016 state playoff quarterfinals), all Cooperstown High School records.
The Great Danes posted a 8-23 mark and went 3-13 in America East Conference (ACE) play this past season.
