Barton CC’s Aime Rutayisire Commits to Niagara Hoops


2023 Barton Community College (Kans.) guard Aime Rutayisire has verbally committed to Division I Niagara University (N.Y.) Mens’ basketball program, yesterday he Tweeted.

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound Adelaide, South Australia, native is a qualifier with three years of eligibility remaining. He held an offer from Southern Utah University before committing to Niagara.

Rutayisire averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 29 contests this past season for the Purple Eagles.

He also played for the NBA Academy before spending a post-graduate year at Scotland Campus Sports (Pa.).

Niagara posted a 16-15 record and went 10-10 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action in the 2022-23 campaign.
