Gastonia Honey Hunter pitcher/coach Ian McKinney is on his way to Seoul, Korea, to play for the Kiwoom Heroes, today the team Tweeted.
McKinney posted a 4-1 record with a 4.24 ERA and struck out 53 batters while surrendering just 11 walks in 46.2 innings of work in eight games with Gastonia in 2023.
Last season, the Orlando, Florida, native put up a 7-4 mark with the Honey Hunters.Â
Though only 28, Mckinney has been involved in professional baseball for nine campaigns in the minors, pitching in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 2013-18, and then joining the Mariners in 2019 following a brief stint in independent baseball with the Sioux City Explores of the American Assocation.
