Mets Select Parkview HS SS Colin Houck with 32nd Overall Pick in 2023 MLB Draft


The New York Mets took shortstop Colin Houck out of Parkview High School with their first pick, 32nd overall, in the 2023 MLB Amateur Draft Sunday night.

Houck was the 12th-rated 2023 in the MLB prospect rankings, and the Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year winner.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitter is a two-sport athlete and a three-star quarterback recruit at Parkview High School in Georgia who passed for 2,189 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior.

Houck is committed to Mississippi State but is slotted to make $2.6 million if he inks with the Mets.
