Class of 2024 Katie Drozd of Hastings-on-Hudson High School (N.Y.) and Long Island Lightning HGSL has verbally committed to Division II University of New Haven Women’s Basketball program, today she Tweeted.
The 6-footer is a solid all-around player: she can drain mid- and long-range jumpers consistently, displays good, quick hands while playing defense, and knows how to create space for herself to drop in a bucket. Also, given her length, she can go up and snatch a rebound at any point during a game.
Drozd, a shooting guard, was a 2022-23 All-Conference and All-League player in Section I, Class B high school girl’s basketball in Westchester County in New York. according to her Twitter account.
The Chargers posted a 17-10 overall record and went 12-8 in Northeast 10 Conference action this past season.
