Long Island Ducks Ink Native Son, Outfielder/First Baseman Ernie Geraci


The Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) today announced that they have signed and activated Long Island native and first baseman and outfielder Ernie Geraci, president and general manager Michael Pfaff Tweeted.

The 26-year-old played in the Major League Baseball Draft League for the Trenton Thunder, hitting .300 with .382 OBP and five RBI in 34 at bats and 11 games this season.

Geraci suited up for three different independent baseball teams in 2021: the Sioux City Explores (American Assocation), Ogden Raptors (Pioneer League) and Great Falls Voyagers (Pioneer League), hitting .283 with .419 OBP and 17 RBI in 99 at bats in 32 contests between the three stops.

The East Moriches, N.Y., resident played his college baseball at Division II College of St. Rose and DIII Farmingdale State.
