6-Game, 12 Teams New Jersey/New York High School Football Round-Up


With some high school football programs starting last week, and other opening today, here is a look at five high football games played in New Jerse, one in New York City.

Whippany Park (1-0) — 22, North Warren (0-1) — 14 — Thursday night at Whippany Park High School.

Senior Michael “Mitch” Fahmie rushed for two scores and sophomore quarterback Brandon Giangeruso had a four-yard touchdown keeper to open the game’s scoring. Sophomore kicker Laz Lima booted a 30-yard field goal in the triumph.

Morristown (2-0) — 21, Chatham (0-2) — 14 — Saturday at Cougar Field

Three unanswered touchdowns in the second half gave the Colonials their second win of the young season, while the Cougars are off to 0-2 start.

Verona 34 (1-1) — Madison 31 (0-1) Saturday at Madison High School.

Summit 46 (1-0) — Woodbridge (1-1) — 36 Saturday at Summit High School

Dunellen –18 (1-0) Dayton (0-1) — 7 Saturday at Dunellen.

Aiden Sangiray rushed for a game-best 191 yards and two scores on 26 touches while Elijah Duplesis contributed 98 yards on five attempts to help the Destroyers to a 11-point victory over the Bulldogs Saturday at home.

John F. Kennedy Campus 30 — A. Philip Randolph 19 Friday night in the Bronx.
