Counter Clocks’ Thomas Dillard Takes ALPB Home Run Lead with 2 Homers

Lexington Counter Clocks’ first baseman/left fielder Thomas Dillard went yard twice yesterday, clubling his 35th and 36th home runs of the season in a 7-5 defeat to the Spire City Ghost Hounds on the road. It helped Dillard claim the top spot in longballs in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB).

The Ghost Hounds’ Leobaldo Cabrera trails Dillard with 34 dingers.

Dillard, 26, who played his college baseball at Ole Miss, is hitting .256 with 94 RBI and 94 walks in 406 at bats in 119 games so far this year. He is also slashing .395/.579/.974.

The Milwaukee Brewers selected the switch-hitting Dillard in the 5th round of the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft.

Spie City also won the first tilt of the day, 3-2.
