Stella Ziogas’ Stellar Play Helps Lasso McNeese State Hoops Offer

Class of 2026 Stella Ziogas of New Rochelle High School and Hoopers NY has picked up an offer from Division I McNeese State Women’s basketball program, today her AAU head coach Dan Melious Tweeted.

Stella Ziogas earns 6th DI college basketball offer.

In addition to the McNeese State offer, Ziogas holds offers from Sacred Heart, FDU, Weber State, Nichols State and Chicago State, with interest from Army, Navy and Central Connecticut, according to Melious.

It’s no wonder the 5-foot-6 point guard is such a highly sought after young commodity. She is a three-level scorer, excellent in the open court, owns a slick handle, and has a high basketball acumen.

Melious could not say enough glowing things about Ziogas’ court skills as well as her personal character. Plus, he noted, that she plans on committing in 2024.

“Stella Ziogas is special,” Melious said. “She’s maturing into a bona fide leader, a true point guard. She’s definitely like a CP3-type (Chris Paul of the Golden State Warriors) of player; pure point guard. Her three-point shot has vastly improved. She’s a great player and better person who cares about her teammates and her team.”

Also, McNeese State had offered her sister and AAU and high school teammate Grace Ziogas back in May.

The Cowgirls posted a 12-19 record and went 8-10 in Southland Conference action in the 2022-23 campaign.
