Class of 2024 Westfield High School (N.J.) right-handed pitcher Jack Chavez has verbally committed Division I Villanova University baseball program, today he announced via Twitter.
Chavez’s fastball ranges from the mid-eighties to 91 mph with a slider that runs around 77 mph, offering a nice change of pace to help keep hitters off balance, according to sources. Chavez, who also plays for the RCBC Ghost 17U Nationals team, struck out 41 batters to 29 walks with a 3.42 ERA in 28.2 innings of work in the 2023 season.

Villanova posted a 14-37 record and went 7-13 in Big East Baseball action in the 2023 campaign.
