Class of 2025 North Hunterdon High School (N.J.) and Newtown Rock Gold-Garvey middle infielder/outfielder Katie Reed has verbally committed to Division I University of Villanova softball program, yesterday she announced via X.
Reed slugged .398 with five home runs and 28 RBI in 83 at-bats for the Lions last season.
Extra Inning Softball has rated Reed, a five-tool player who can also play third base, at the No. 49 spot in the class of 2025 in the Extra Elite 100 Player rankings.
Reed will be joining her sister Grace, who is now a freshman infielder on the Wildcats.
Villanova posted a 37-22 record and went 18-6 in Big East Conference action in the 2023 campaign.
