Three Brooklyn Kids Thriving as a Result of Johnny Mac Tennis Project’s Guidance

Presently, there are three special youngsters from Brooklyn, N.Y., who are attending the John McEnroe Tennis Academy on scholarship through the Johnny Mac Tennis Project (JMTP), whose mission is to transform young lives by removing the economic, racial and social barriers to success via the sport of tennis.

The following three promising, young athletes are reaping the positive benefits of JMTP: Kareem Lubowski, a third grader in his second year in the program; Kayla Moore, a high school freshman in her second year in the program, and Josh Dolinsky, an eighth grader who is in his fourth year in the program.

Brooklyn’s Josh Dolinsky sports some wonderful hardwood for his impressive tennis efforts.

Dolinsky, who resides in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, said he relishes the fact of what JMTA has done for him emotionally, socially and physically, helping him to take his game to another level.

“Tennis makes me feel happy and complete,” Dolinsky said via email. “Whenever I’m playing tennis, I get to forget about everything and just have fun. I love training in JMTA because it feels like a family environment. I get so much help and support from all the coaches and staff. I feel like my game has gotten so much better because of JMTA and the support from JMTP.”

In September 2010, tennis legend John McEnroe and SPORTIME partnered to launch the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, in John’s hometown of New York City, at the SPORTIME Randall’s Island Tennis Center in Manhattan.
