Evan Parker served as a player/coach last season with independent Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer Baseball League after filling the bullpen coach role the previous year.
But this coming 2024 campaign, Parker, an Ogden, Utah, native, will be seated at the Raptors’ helm, a position that will be new to him and one he takes great pride in undertaken for a place where he laid down his roots. Plus, the former Milwaukee Brewers’ farmhand and the rest of the Raptors will work hard to keep the title at home.
“I’m very proud to represent my hometown and defend our title in 2024,” Parker, 30, said on X. “I look forward to seeing everyone out at Lindquist Field this season.”
The Raptors posted a 50-46 mark and swept the Idaho Falls Chukars is the best of five series to claim the Pioneer Baseball League championship.
