Chatham High School Athletics (N.J.) today announced via X that the Super Football Conference (SFC) Liberty Blue Division named a number of Cougar football players to its 2023 All-Conference teams.
Senior offensive/defensive lineman Chris Nevin and senior defense at large/running back Owen Bedell have been named to the First Team.
Additionally, senior running back Jacob Bitar, senior quarterback Jackson Hodges and junior linebacker Joe Levato were named to the Second Team. Also, senior receiver/defensive back John (Jack) Tunny earned Honorable Mention recognition.
Bedell made 85 tackles (second on Cougars) and was first on Chatham with three interceptions and three sacks on defensive. He also pulled down seven catches for 61 yards.
Bitar rushed for a team-best 918 yards on 142 carries with 11 touchdowns, while Hodges passed for 536 yards and completed 58 passes on 111 attempts with a score while bolting for 878 yards on 154 touches with nine touchdowns.
Levato made a team-leading 87 tackles, while Tunny caught 19 receptions for 243 yards with three touchdowns and made 27 stops on defense.
