Recently, a friend of mine had the pleasure of eating at another buddy’s establishment, Metropolis Steak & Seafood, on Lincoln Avenue in Staten Island, N.Y.
Well, what a great experience it turned out to be, he said.
The food was next level delicious, he noted. I have been to several high-end steakhouses (Club A, Palm, Ruth’s Chris, Wolfgang’s) and he said he liked the food better at Metropolis Steak & Seafood.
Instead of passing off the same old tired recipes as “classic,” Sonny Parmar, a Brooklyn-born restauranter and fitness enthusiast, and his business partner, Richie, put a lot of thought into improving upon on standard steakhouse fare, while enjoying it in a wonderful atmosphere.
The results of their collective efforts have yielded fantastic items on their menu, such as worldclass creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, he said his stomach limited him to a few dishes, but he got to take home delicious leftovers.
Additionally, the steak was superb and cooked exactly the way that he requested. Imagine that? He also had the Mozzarella En Carozza, a warm and stringy core of mozzarella, enclosed in a crunchy breadcrumb coating. Plus, he enjoyed the broccoli, French onion soup, clam’s casino, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, the Ribeye and some of his wife’s chicken parm, all of which were mouthwatering tasty.

Matt, the bartender/mixologist, made a great old fashioned and Aperol spritzer (ask for Perseco).
There was nothing he had that he did not enjoy.

I have eaten at Metropolis Steak & Seafood a few times myself, and I love the mouthwatering fare. I had the eggplant parmagiana and hot honey fried calamari, which was unreal, during my last visit. It provided a little heat kick with tremendous flavor notes–a must try, indeed.
Sonny, in his own charming way, personally checked in with each of the guests and was on top of the waitstaff. Everyone who dines there was cordially attended to, much to their delight, as it seemed, I noted. As for the eggplant parmagiana, the savory sauce and mozzarella compliment each other in a way as if your own Italian grandmother crafted the large portion entree.
In a word filled with fakeness, the genuine hospitality rendered at Metropolis Steak & Seafood makes the experience there truly unique. The fact that the prices make it accessible to so many people give it every reason to believe that it is destined to be a favorite steak and seafood destination to eat for even more people across Staten Island, as well as the rest of New York City, and evn New Jersey.
For sports fans, you can also watch several sporting events on multiple TVs while enjoying an adult beverage and delicious food.
