Former Southern Maryland Blue Crabs reliever Isaac Mattson has signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, yesterday the team announced via X.
Mattson, 28, who pitched with the Baltimore Orioles in 2021, spilt 2023 with the Wichita Wind Surge (AA) and the Atlantic League Blue Crabs, going 4-2 with three saves and 66 strikeouts in 39 games.
The Los Angeles Angels selected the 6-foot-2, 205-pound righty in the 19th round of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh.
