Oakland Ballers Trade for Speedy Outfielder Austin Davis


The Oakland Ballers of the Pioneer Baseball League have acquired outfielder Austin Davis from the Ottawa Titans of the Frontier League for cash considerations, today the team announced via X.

Davis, 23, batted .288 with one home run, 12 RBI, 19 stolen bases, and 23 runs scored in 43 games last season with the Titans.

Before turning professional, Davis played for the West Virginia Mountaineers for four years, hitting .313 with five longballs, 57 RBI, 64 base thefts with an on base percentage of .384 in 517 at-bats in 164 games during that time span.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Davis played high school baseball ball at Conrad Academy in Orlando, Fla., where he was a two-time All-Metro honoree. Also, he earned the Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American accolade in 2018,

An excellent overall athlete, Davis also played football, garnering All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year and MVP awards. Plus, he made the Dean’s list, Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and landed on the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll.
