The Northern Colorado Owlz have inked infielder Omar Ortiz, a former Vanguard University player, for the upcoming 2024 Pioneer Baseball League campaign, today the team wrote on X.
Ortiz spent spring training with the Owlz before joining the Santa Fe Fuego of the Pecos League, where he slashed .362/.496/.626 in 44 games with 11 home runs and 51 RBI in 2023.
Additionally, the Las Vegas native played his first year in the Pecos League with the Bakersfield Train Robbers, hitting .327/.394/.423 in 42 games in 2022.
