SI FerryHawks Re-Sign Luis Castro for the 2024 ALPB Season

Infielder Luis Castro returns to the Staten Island FerryHawks fold for the 2024 Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) campaign, today the team announced via X. This is Staten Island’s first signing of the upcoming season.

Luis Castro is back with FerryHawks.

Castro, 28, smacked .291 with 15 home runs and 65 RBI in 361 at-bats in 110 games with the FerryHawks in 2023.

In eight minor league seasons of affiliated ball, Castro, a Caja Seca, Venezuela, native, has batted .276 with 58 longballs, 282 RBI, 101 doubles and an on-base plus slugging percentage of .813. He reached as high as Triple-A with the Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee) in 2021.

Staten Island opens up the year on Thursday, April 25 at Charleston Dirty Birds for a four-game series.
