Ex-Met Great Dwight Gooden will be at New Jersey’s Hobby Shop for an Autograph Session in February

What’s up, Doc?

Former New York Met legend Dwight “Doc” Gooden will be making an autograph appearance at the Hobby Shop (Laurell Square Shopping Center/1930 NJ-88/Brick, N.J.) on Saturday, February 24th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., as tickets went on sale today, the store announced.

A pre-sale ticket for the event is $50.00 for two Gooden autographs. Please call (732) 583-0505 or visit hobbyshopnj.com for more information on the event and establishment, plus to order tickets.

The Mets will retire Gooden’s No. 16 with a ceremony on April 14 at Citi Field, when the Mets play the Kansas City Royals. He helped the Mets win the 1986 World Series against the Boston Red Sox in one of the greatest moments in franchise history.

Gooden registered a 194-112 record with a 3.51 ERA with 2293 strike outs over a 16-year MLB career with the Mets, New York Yankees, Tampa Devil Rays, Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros.

Additionally, he no-hit the Seattle Mariners as a member of the Yankees on May 14th, 1996.

A first round selection of the Mets in the 1st round (fifth overall) of the 1982 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Fla., the dynamic Gooden went on to capture the National League Rookie of the Year in 1984.

That season, the then-19-year-old posted a 17-9 mark with a sparkling 2.60 ERA in 218 innings of work in 31 games.
