The Staten Island FerryHawks of the independent Atlantic League have recently re-signed two players for the upcoming 2024 campaign: outfielder Kolby Johnson and pitcher John Esposito, the team announced via X.
Johnson, 24, hit .361 with five home runs, 22 RBI, and 16 stolen bases to go along with a .450 OBP, .578 SLG percentage and 1.029 OPS with the Trenton Thunder of the MLB Draft League in 2023 before finishing out the season with Staten Island.
Esposito, a Staten Island native who climb the bump for the College of Staten Island, pitched in eight games in his professional debut for the FerryHawks last year. He tied a single-game program-best in strikeouts in CSI history with 18.
The signings, along with Luis Castro, make it three players under contract so far for the season.
