Former Stepinac Football Star Gavin Heslop Inks with UFL’s San Antonio Brahmas


Gavin Heslop, an Archbishop Stepinac High School (N.Y.) alumnus and ex-football star, has signed with the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL), today his old high school athletic department wrote on X.

The Brahmas are part of the UFL’s XFL division.

The cornerback last played in the NFL with the Clevland Browns, where he recorded one tackle in three games in 2023. Before that, in 2022, Heslop saw time with the Carolina Panthers on their practice squad.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Yonkers, N.Y., native went undrafted out of Stony Brook University in 2020. But the Seattle Seahawks inked him to a free agent contract thereafter.

Heslop is cousins with former NFL player Doug Hogue, who played for the Detroit Lions and Panthers from 2011 to 2012.
