The Sussex County Miners (N.J.) have re-signed power-hitting outfielder Oraj Anu for the upcoming 2024 Frontier League season, the team recently announced.
Anu, 25, slugged .321 with 20 home runs, 69 RBI, 20 doubles and drew 32 walks in 346 at-bats in 90 games last season. The Orlando, Florida-born righty-hitter also slashed an impressive .391/.555/.946. to add to his formidable year.
The Boston Red Sox picked Anu in the 16th round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft out of George C. Wallace State Community College, but he decided to attend the University of Kentucky.
He spent three years as a Wildcat, hitting 2.87 with 14 longballs, driving in 71 runs and drawing 32 walks in 348 at-bats in 97 contests.
