The Long Island Ducks have re-signed right-handed pitcher Justin Alintoff for the upcoming 2024 Atlantic League baseball season, today the team announced via X.
A versatile hurler a team player, Ducks manager said he is glad to have Alintoff return to fold for the year.
“Justin did a great job filling any role we needed last season,” Ducks Manager Lew Ford said on LIDucks.com. “He is a team-first player, and we are happy to have him back this year.”
Alintoff, 25, posted a 2-3 record with 54 strikeouts and just 28 bases on balls in 80.2 innings of work while recording one save in 35 games with Long Island in the 2023 campaign.
Alintoff began his professional career with the New York Boulders of the Frontier League, where he struck out 13 batters while walking just four in 23 frames in five contests.
Before turning pro, the Florida native played three seasons of college baseball: two with the Division I University of Florida Gators and one with D-II Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. In 37 games (16 starts), he put up a 9-5 mark with a 3.49 ERA, one save, 98 strikeouts and 26 walks across 136.2 innings between both colligate spots.
