Former Mets’ Righty Farmhand Carlos Ocampo Inks with Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks


The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed right-handed pitcher Carlos Ocampo, a former New York Mets farmhand, to a contract for the upcoming 2024 independent American Assocation baseball season, yesterday the league announced via X.

Ocampo, 25, posted a 1-4 record with a 6.47 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 57.0 innings of work in 17 games between three stops in the Mexican League, and Columbian and Mexican (Winter) Pacific Leagues in 2023-24.

Ocampo posted a 0-2 mark with a 3.86 ERA in seven frames and three contest with the Mets’ High-A affiliate, the Brooklyn Cyclones, in 2022. He also appeared with St. Lucie (Low-A) and Binghamton (AA) that same season.

Additionally, Campos spent four campaigns in the Chicago Cubs organization in 2016, ’18-’19 and ’21.

The RedHawks begin the 2024 baseball year against the Lincoln Saltdogs on Friday, May 10th at 7:02 p.m.
