Edwin Mateo Reups with Sussex County Miners for 2024

The Sussex County Miners have re-signed outfielder Edwin Mateo for the upcoming 2024 Frontier League campaign, marking his second year with the team, today the Miners announced via X.

Mateo, 25, batted .323 with seven home runs, 43 RBI and 39 stolen bases while slashing .394/.419/.813 in 396 at bats in 95 games in 2023.

The switch-hitting Mateo spent five seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, hitting .252 with 14 longballs, 107 RBI and 67 base thefts in 1076 at-bats in 312 contests.

Sussex County kicks off the 2024 campaign on Friday, May 10th at 7:05 p.m. against the Trois-Riveires Aigles at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey.
