The Long Island Ducks have signed right-handed pitcher and Queens, New York, native Charlie Neuweiler to a contract for the 2024 independent Atlantic League campaign, today the team wrote on X.
A graduate of Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School in Elmhurst, New York, Neuweiler pitched for the High-A Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Minnesota Twins organization, registering a 1-0 record with a 5.54 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 26 innings of work in 2023.
The 25-year-old went 6-7 with 4.94 ERA with 82 whiffs in 94.2 frames with the High-A Quad City River Bandits of the Kansas City Royals minor league system.
Neuweiler is a former fifth round selection of the Royals in the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft.
