The Lexington Legends have re-signed pitcher Dustin Beggs and infielder/outfielder JC Encarnacion to the Legendary fold for the 2024 Atlantic League campaign, today the team announced via X.
Beggs, a University of Kentucky alum, pitched for the Spire City Ghost Hounds last season, going 3-13 with a 6.14 ERA in 133.1 innings of work in 24 games. The 30-year-old last pitched in Lexington with the Kentucky Wild Health Genomes in 2022, posting a 9-5 record with a 5.90 ERA in 122.0 frames in 23 contests.
Beggs also climbed the hill for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, in 2021, where he went 4-3 with a 4:15 ERA in 48 innings before finishing out the season with the Legends.
Encarnacion, 26, batted .274 with 17 home runs and 63 RBI in 486 at-bats and in 124 games in 2023 with Lexington.
Before that, the Dominican Republic native smacked 14 dingers and 60 RBI with a .287 batting average in the 2022 campaign with the York Revolution.
The Legends get their staches on, on April 25th at 6:45 p.m. at home against the High Point Rockers.
