Binghamton Rumble Ponies (AA) right-handed pitcher Blade Tidwell surrendered just two runs while striking out 10 batters in five innings of work in the Rumble Ponies’ 3-2 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies) Wednesday night at Mirabito Stadium.
Tidwell, the New York Mets’ 10th-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline, has posted a 1-1 record with 15 strikeouts, a 1.69 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP across 10.2 frames to start the 2024 season.
The 6-foot-4, 207-pound Tidwell, the Mets’ second round pick (52 overall) in the 2022 MLB Amateur Draft out of Tennessee, has posted a 12-8 record with a 3.31 ERA and 179 strikeouts in 136.0 innings over two-plus season in the 22-year-old’s minor league baseball career.
