The 6-foot-9, 230-pound Mahoney, who played high school basketball at Red Rock Academy (Nev.), St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.) and Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, held offers from Hampton, Coastal Carolina, Siena, Harvard, Robert Morris, Syracuse, Texas A&M, St. John’s and Wichita State before committing to Washington State, according to VerbalCommits.com.
The Cougars posted a 25-10 overall mark and went 14-6 in Pacific Athletic Conference 12 (PAC-12) action in the 2023-24 season.
