Well-Traveled Moussa Cissé Reenters Basketball Transfer portal


The basketball carousel continues to turn for center Moussa Cissé, who, today, has reentered the college basketball portal after playing for Ole Miss this past season, according to media reports.

The 7-foot-1, 216-pound Cisse, a senior forward, averaged 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds with 36 blocks (1.4 p.g.) in 26 contests in the 2023-24 campaign with the Rebels.

Cissé spent two seasons at Oklahoma State, playing in 61 games and averaged 7.0 points, 7.3 boards and 1.9 blocks per game.

He averaged 20 minutes, 7.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game with the Cowboys in 2021-22.

He also played one year at Memphis, where he started in all 28 games for the Tigers, averaging 6.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in the 2020-21 campaign.

In high school during the 2019-20 season, Cissé led Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis to the Division II-A state championship. He also paced Christ the King Regional High School (Queens, N.Y.) to the NYSFSSA state title game in 2019. Before that, he played for St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.).

Playing on the Nike EYBL circuit during the summer of 2019, Cissé averaged 11.8 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.8 blocks.

Ole Miss posted a 20-12 overall record and went 7-11 in Southeast Conference (SEC) play in the 2023-24 season.
