Brooklyn’s Arianna Mercado Picks Up Towson Hoops Offer

Arianna Mercado of East New York Family Academy High School (Brooklyn) and Bay State Jaguars 17U squad has received an offer from Division I Towson University Women’s basketball program, today her AAU team announced on X, formerly Twitter.

The class of 2025 combo guard, who also plays for the Dominican Republic National Basketball Team, averaged a team-high 28.16 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.77 assists per game in 13 regular season PSAL contests during the 2023-24 campaign.

Mercado added an average of 21.40 points, 3.6 boards and 6.6 helpers per game in five playoffs tilts, leading the Lady Eagles (12-2) to the PSAL Girl’s finals against perennial powerhouse South Shore, a 69-26 defeat at St. John’s University.

Although 5-foot-5, Mercado is a talented player who can score in buckets, lead and felicitate as a floor general, with crafty ball handling abilities and the skill to make players around her better.

Towson posted a 20-11 overall mark and went 11-7 in Colonial Athletic Assocation (CAA) conference this past season.
