After entering the transfer portal in mid-April, Spencer Mahoney, a New York native and former Washington State red-shirted small forward, has picked up an offer from Division I University of Central Florida (UCF) Men’s basketball program, yesterday he wrote in X.
Mahoney, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound soon-to-be sophomore, formerly played at Red Rock Academy (Nev.), St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.) and Xaverian High School in Brooklyn. He held several D-1 offers from Hampton, Coastal Carolina, Siena, Harvard, Robert Morris, Syracuse, Texas A&M, St. John’s and Wichita State, according to sources, before committing to Washington State.
UCF posted a 17-16 overall record and went 7-11 in Big 12 Conference action in the 2023-24 season.
