Syracuse Mets’ Trayce Thompson and Mike Brosseau Make History with Three Home Runs Apiece During the Week

Aa pair of Triple-A Syracuse Mets — outfielder Trayce Thompson and utility player Mike Brosseau — each accomplished special feats this week: they slugged three home runs apiece in a game.

Thompson, 33, went for the trifecta last night at home against the Iowa Cubs, while Brosseau, 30, did same thing versus the Cubs on Tuesday.

The brother of NBA star Klay Thompson, the Mets acquired the baseball playing Thompson by signing him to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.

Thompson, a second-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft, has belted 11 longballs and 32 RBI with five stolen bases and 24 runs in 137 at-bats so far this season.

The Mets inked the veteran to a minor league contract earlier this year.

Brosseau has smashed three dingers and 11 RBI with 15 runs thus far in the 2024 campaign with Syracuse. He started the year with Ohama Storm Chasers before the Kansas City Royals released him in early May.

The former Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Rays player has suited in parts of five MLB seasons between both teams.
