Rintaro Sasaki: Japan’s HS Home Run Record Holder Makes U.S. Debut with Trenton Thunder

In his U.S. debut, Rintaro Sasaki, Japan’s high school home run record holder with 140, smacked two hits, including a longball and three RBI for the Trenton Thunder of the Major League Draft League. He also scored two runs and walked.

The Thunder (2-5) defeated the Fredrick Keys (2-5), 11-1, Tuesday night at Nymeo Field.

Rintaro Sasaki slugs his first U.S. dinger.

The Stanford commit and first baseman slashed 413/.514/.808 and walked twice as much as he struck out in high school.

The 6-foot, 230-pound power hitter and the Thunder return to action tonight against the Keys at 7:00 p.m.
