Ex-Pope John XXIII Catcher Jimmy Brennan Transfers to Seton Hall Baseball Program for Senior Year


Former Pope John XXIII Regional High School’s Jimmy Brennan is returning to his home state of New Jersey, as he is transferring to Seton Hall Pirates’ baseball program for his senior year, yesterday he announced on X.

Jimmy Brennan is coming back to New Jersey to play for the Seton Hall Pirates baseball program.

Brennan smacked .355 with 14 home runs, 131 RBI, 40 doubles, a .936 OPS and .423 OBP in 516 at-bats in 141 games played in three years at Division II Post University in Waterbury, Ct.

Behind the plate, the Newton, N.J., native showed off his defensive prowess, sporting a .983 fielding percentage while showcasing his strong arm, throwing out 59 runners attempting to steal, according to his X account.

In the classroom, Brennan also shined with an impressive 3.64 GPA.

The Pirates posted a 24-30 overall record and went 7-14 in Big East Conference action in the 2023-24 campaign.
