Jack Reinheimer: Chicago Cubs Ink Speedy Gastonia Infielder


The Chicago Cubs organization have signed Gastonia Baseball Club infielder Jack Reinheimer, today the team announced on X.

Jack Reinheimer gets chance to prove himself with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs.

Reinheimer, 31, batted .269 with six home runs, 21 RBI, 42 runs scored, 30 walks and 19 stolen bases in 216 at bats in 53 games this season before the Cubs organization picked up his contract.

So far, he is 2-6 with a walk and base theft in six at bats in two contests with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs.

Last year, the Kansas City Royals purchased his contract and shipped him to the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals, where he played in 26 games with the team.

Before his opportunity with the Royals, Reinheimer batted .310 with five home runs and 19 RBI along with slashing .422/.516/.938 in 185 at-bats in 40 games with the Gastonia Honey Hunters in 2023.

Known for his speed and base stealing abilities, Reinheimer, who played college baseball for East Carolina University, swiped 45 bases with the Honey Hunters in the 2022 campaign.

The Charlotte, N.C., native has played in a total of 26 MLB tilts with the New York Mets and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

TheĀ Seattle MarinersĀ selected Reinheimer in theĀ fifth roundĀ of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft.
