Former Gastonia Baseball Club relief pitcher Bryan Blanton, whom the New Yankees selected in the 21st round of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft out of Catawba College (N.C.), had his contract purchased by the Saraperos de Saltillo of the LMB (Liga Mexicana de Beisbol), yesterday Gastonia announced via X.
Blanton, a 28-year-old righty, registered a 3-2 mark with 2.95 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 24.1 innings of work in 23 games in Atlantic League action before Saltillo bought his contract.
Blanton pitched for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Assocation in 2022, recording a 2.14 ERA in 33.2 innings.
Blanton posted a 3-8 record with 4.36 ERA in 99 frames in parts of four seasons of affiliated minor league baseball with the Yankees.
