The New York Mets have promoted Nick Lorusso from the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones of the South Atlantic League to the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies of the Eastern League, today the Cyclones announced on X.
Lorusso batted .267 with 11 home runs and 42 RBI, while slashing .365/.470/.834 in 262 at-bats in 70 games with the Cyclones this season.
The 23-year-old righty-hitting infielder began the year with the Low-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League, driving in 10 runs with 15 hits, nine walks and two stolen bases in 89 at-bats in 26 contests before moving up to Brooklyn.
The Mets selected Lorusso in the ninth round of the 2023 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Maryland. He also played three years with the Villanova Wildcats of the Big East Conference.
