Two New York City athletes — Anne Cebula (fencing) and Salif Mane (triple jump) — are heading to the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday, July 26th.
Cebula, a former Columbia University Barnard College epee fencer, is from Brooklyn and attended Brooklyn Technical High School. She is also a 2019 NCAA Epee Champion and two-time All-American in 2019 and 2020.
Cebula, 26, led the Engineers to their first City Championship in 36 years in 2016.
Additionally, she captured the PSAL Girls Individual Epee Champion in both 2014 and 2016 seasons, was a three-time PSAL Girls’ Invitational Champion, and a PSAL Girls’ league-leader in wins during her senior year.
Mane took home the 2024 NCAA Triple Jump National Championship as a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU/N.J.) track & field team with an impressive leap of 7.14 meters.
The seven-time All-American, who won 13 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships, is from the Bronx, N.Y., and attended Bronx Medical Science. He is also a four-time First Team All-American triple jumper.
Mane graduated from FDU in May with a degree in civil engineering.
