Charleston Dirty Birds’ Rusber Estrada Sets ALPB Records with Four Home Runs and More

Charleston Dirty Bird catcher Rusber Estrada went off to tonight at the plate, having himself one heck of a night after clubbing four home runs, five extra base hits and touching 18 bases in the process. All three offensive categories are now Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) records.

Charleston went on to trounce the Lexington Legends, 26-2, on Wednesday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky.

The 29-year-old Estrada now has 10 longballs and 41 RBI through 210 at-bats in 62 games for the Dirty Birds.

Estrada is not the only Dirty Bird to enjoy a banner day. First baseman Keon Barnum drove in nine runs, which is tied for the third most RBI in an ALPB game.

The Legends host Charleston tomorrow night at 6:45 p.m.
