Former MLB Outfielder and Long Island Duck Jackie Bradley, Jr. Joins New York Mets


The New York Mets have signed former MLBer and Long Island Duck outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. to a contract, today Ducks’ president Michael Pfaff announced via X. He will join Triple-A Syracuse, per report.

Bradley batted an amazing .400 with 12 home runs, 35 RBI, 36 runs scored and 23 walks in 165 at-bats in 40 games with the Ducks of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB).

He becomes the ninth Long Island player inked to a higher-level deal in the 2024 campaign.

Bradley comes to the Mets organization with an impressive resume. He picked up the 2018 Rawlings Sports Gold Glove Award. Plus, he was a 2016 American League All-Star who spent 11 seasons n MLB with the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Bluejays and Kansas City Royals.

Additionally, he was a member of the Red Sox team that defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2018 World Series.

During his MLB timespan, Bradley, 33, smacked 109 home runs and drove in 449 runs, scored 514 runs, collected 839 hits, swiped 69 stolen bases, drew 361 walks and had a .303 on-base percentage.

Boston selected Bradley in the 1st round, 40th overall, of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft out of the University of South Carolina.
